I bought a new iPod

This week's wallpaper isn't as revealing as other ones i've posted, but it's still pretty sexy.
I've been thinking about the new iPhone 3GS, and how my contract ends in september. What i'm really interested into is the new screen that (apparently it's true) is really hard to get dirty, and the compass. Then i realized my contract really ends like in september, but next year's, so at the moment i decided that this new model isn't interesting :D
I mean, by next year's september there will be a newer, better, and "more everything" interesting one, lol.
Wonder what about my new iPod? 2.90 euro at the supermarket, plushy, with candies inside and a working click wheel for the basic FM radio function. Love at first sight, and candy were sweet. (it's yellow with pink stars... the pink stars were the same no matter the color... might upload a picture. sooner or later.)

Today's wallpaper is Hatsune Miku!
End of post, lol.

Finding a wallpaper is fairly easy, the hardest part is the post title, lol.

Ok, this week's wallpaper isn't exactly ecchi. And Alicia's fingers are a little creepy, but the image is overall nice, and i like the game (Valkyria Chronicles).

Race Pro, or should i say Race Noob?

Today the wallpaper is set in an onsen! Personally i think this is a fairly awesome image.
I had some time to try Race Pro on the 360. Now.... what i got is a fairly realistic racing game. That's not good! I was expecting a SIMULATOR, not a game that is less realistic than GT4 or Forza Motorsports. It went like this: first race on an Alfa Romeo 75, everything on easy. Very easy win. So it's time to try the opposite, right? "Realistic" damage, tire wear, no driving help like ABS or any other thing like that. I left to my help just the dumb IA and the best line, since i needed some practice to learn any track. Won again. I can use rear traction cars, after all the grip is enough to avoid nasty over steer issues. But wait, it's not enough: if a racing game has damage, i inevitably run perpendicular to a wall at top speed. Apparently crashing at over 200kmph cars can still work. Kudos to BMW. OR shame on the developer, you pick. I still remember when i used their first game, GTR. It was a mod to "iforgotwhat" F1 game, and it was a nightmare, every car required little to no effort to end up in pieces or out of track. What happend to them? Is this because on a console they didn't expect to sell anything had this been too simulative? (btw, apparently the engine won't take damage if you overrev it)
This thing saddens me, even if in the end, it's still a very enjoyable experience.

Also, the new Linux box is giving me some issues... not hardware related, luckly: just how the hell does SAMBA output roughly 20mbps and ssh based sftp 90mbps? On a 10/100 card, mind you. That's the only thing, but it's driving me nuts.

Better late than ever, right?

Well, sorry for this late wallpaper. It happened that my new computer (a desktop with an Atom N230) arrived, and i had to assemble it, and then install/update and so on Linux. One way or another, it took me the whole day, and the wallpaper totally slipped off my mind, sorry :D

Real post later

Maybe. For now just enjoy this week's wallpaper.
Lol. So today's my birthday, and by lunch i got several "happy birthday!", mostly from forums and sites, but also by my grandmother. Mid afternoon was the moment for my brother to remind. Mom came back from work with a good amount of icecream (yummy!).
Close to the end of the dinner i go on and say "Somehow i get the feeling dad isn't aware of what day is today." "I sure do, it's the 11th. Your birthday. [short pause] Happy birthday!" That was fun XD

Why stuff breaks?

This week's wallpaper has some good reasons to be here. I'll let you find them XD
Sorry for last week, i spent easter in Florence basically internet less, and when i came back... surprise surprise, my hd with the (never back upped) music was acting up. Today, after a week of messing with it and a complete backup on a network drive, looks like the issue is hardware. Fuck. At least it's old, i remember it was really expensive 160gb drive back then. It was 160gb , or 320gb. No more at the time, lol. Ohhhh, well, at least nowadays those are really cheap, shouldn't be too much of an issue. But it's still pissing me off, obviously.

People ruins multiplayer. It would be so much better without people :P

Uh.. wallpaper.
Lately i've been a bit online with GT5 Prologue. I play online for fun, not for serious gaming, but i keep my behaviour as serious as possible. However some people seems to think that not getting in first place calls for death sentence or something, so they do everything to achieve that. As i said, i look for a carefree experience online, so my choice is the Daytona speedway. The best car allowed is the Ford GT, and you can tell that, since there are always a bunch of them in the top positions, or even times where there are only Ford GT. I beg to differ, so my best effort is the Ferrari F40. I know winning will be more unlikely, but hey, i'm here to have fun, not to win. Issue: other people like to crash on anything between them and the first place! This is made worse by the way the game punishes your tricky ways. Try to slide on the wall? 4 seconds of slowliness. Try to cut the track short? 4 seconds of slowliness. crash hard onto somebody? you got it, another 4 seconds. Cool, right? NO. The "crash into somebody and get penality" is set poorly, so unless you end up into somebody that lost control and is really slower than you, there is no penality. This calls for the "bump them into the wall" technique. That's it. They just bump you into a wall, and _you_ get penality, allowing them to enjoy what was you place (as an added bonus, you usually lose 2-3 places). Not cool. Some try to do the side slam used in Burnout to get a takedown, others just bump you from behind. Possibly not during a stright piece of the track. I can take a last place, if it's my fault or if it's because the others are soooo better than me. I swear, i can. It pisses me off when i lose even a single place thanks to an idiot that bumps me out of his way, though. Here comes my way to reduce the issue: dickheads in a Ford GT, meet my Ferrari 599, massive weight of my car, meet dick head's attempt to bump me out. Granted, it won't solve the issue, but at least now i have a few more chances to keep my ranking :-|
